Welcome to Acuabi
Acuabi is an acupuncture practice located in Abingdon, which aims to provide an affordable alternative to acupuncture treatment using a multi-bed practice environment, as well as providing one-to-one treatment at standard rates. We are interested in widening the understanding of acupuncture and to promote its health benefits to the general public. Acuabi welcomes everybody from all walks of life, gender or size; this includes children and elderly. Please browse this web site and find out more about us and what we can offer you, and how acupuncture may be the treatment for you.

Currently there are two practitioners at Acuabi: Ana White and Christine Urquhart. Ana is fully qualified with a BSc in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM), which is accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation (BAAB) board. She is a fully insured acupuncturist, and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and bound by its Code of Safe Practice and Code of Professional Conduct. Christine is a qualified reflexologist and member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), which is a Government recognised Awarding Body for Reflexology. Therapists who belong to the AoR have been trained to the highest professional standards and are governed by strict Codes of Practice and Ethics.

Acuabi is also registered with the Association of Community and Multi-bed Acupuncture Clinics (ACMAC), and our premises and practitioners are licenced to practice by the Environmental Health Department of the Vale of White Horse.

Currently Acuabi has no disabled access; we are looking at the possibility of fitting a portable ramp for wheelchair users in the near future.

Acuabi news

We are pleased to announce that a new therapist is joining the Acuabi team: Christine Urquhart is providing reflexology treatments from the beginning of November 2011, on Thursdays and Fridays (other times can be arranged at her discretion). We are also currently undergoing discussions that mean in the near future we may be introducing other therapy such as holistic massage; please visit this website for more details.

In November 2011 it has been a year that Acuabi has been open to the public, and we are pleased to say that it has been a great success, and very well received by the patients. This was only possible with the dedication of the patients and the practitioners to the acupuncture treatment; also with all external voluntary help by other acupuncturists and other therapists and trades which made a success of all the events that Acuabi took part in during this year.

Thank you to Eileen Bose for being an Acuabi locum and looking after Ana’s patients in her absence in August.

Congratulations to Owen and Claire for getting married - we wish you all the happiness.

We have donated gift vouchers for a prize at the regular quiz at the Kings Head and Bell pub in Abingdon, and also St Edmunds Primary School sports day, fair and Christmas bazaar. (If there is a cause that you feel that Acuabi could donate its services to, please don't hesitate to contact us, to see how we can help).

We now have available gift vouchers of different values and therapies for purchase at the clinic: £10, £35 and £45 depending on the choice of treatment or how much the patient wants to spend.

What our patients say

"My 18 month old daughter was suffering with teething and was picking up a lot of colds which resulted in her being very chesty and coughing at night so she didn't sleep well and had already been on quite a few courses of antibiotics. Since having treatment she has stopped wheezing at night, I haven’t had to take her to the doctor at all with chest infection symptoms and her childminder has commented on her behaviour as she is a lot calmer." - mother of Amaya, 18 months
